Karén is an intellectual property attorney with a passion for technology and innovation. He has worked in the IT field as well as the United States Patent and Trademark Office, where he specialized in electronic and mechanical devices. In areas ranging from clothing designs and toys to musical instruments and computer software, Karén has helped clients protect their intellectual property and overcome their business hurdles. Although patent law is his specialty, he is highly partial to entertainment law and shares a lifelong devotion to the performance arts as an accomplished stage performer and musician.
While at law school, Karén worked at the Intellectual Property Law Clinic where he helped start-ups and low-income clients. He also served as President of the Intellectual Property Law Society where he spoke at IP panels and organized symposia on cutting-edge legal issues. Karén assists budding entrepreneurs with starting their businesses and helps established business owners further develop their enterprises. He counsels entities of all sizes on business transactions and marketing with a particular emphasis on intellectual property protection. Karén often gives lectures on intellectual property topics to audiences ranging from inventors and scientists to business and legal professionals.
